Entries open for Durban city marathon

This prestigious race has become one of the highlights of road racing calendar in the province.

ENTRIES for the fourth Durban City Marathon, which is less than a month away, are open. The race takes place on 15 April and is expected to draw thousands of runners.

With the aim of being the fastest race in Southern Africa, this prestigious race has become one of the highlights on the road racing calendar in the province. A beautiful double-lap race, the marathon sees runners explore the city’s most prominent tourism sites which include uShaka Marine, the Durban harbour, and trailing the sidewalks of the beach.

KZNA President Sello Mokoena said: “Nothing beats a morning run in the warm breeze of the Indian Ocean. We are delighted to have the race back again this year, and hope that it will be an even better segment of what the race has been in past years. We urge people to get their entries in and come enjoy running the city of eThekwini.”
