The tournament, which will be a 4-ball format, tees off at 10am and entrance fees at R1 000 a player include a luxury goodie bag, lunch, greens fees, cart fees, as well as an exciting end to the evening with a celebrity hosted auction at a glamorous dinner.

Prizes for the event this year promise to be extravagant with sponsors helping to make Tafta’s 60th birthday event memorable for its golfing supporters. Included in the prize line-up are three place prizes, a longest drive prize, a closest to pin prize, surprise auction envelope prizes, a lucky draw and more.

All proceeds for this year’s event will once again go towards Tafta’s hot meal provision service; the Meals on Wheels programme.

“Meals on Wheels provides nutritiously prepared meals to elders, both in Tafta homes and in the community, who are housebound or who no longer can cook for themselves. They are ready-to-eat meals, which are conveniently delivered to the homes of the elderly or housebound, and provide them with the essential nourishment that they require. Food prices continue to escalate and through Tafta’s Meals and Wheels programme, we aim to relieve the stress of ongoing food costs for elders,” said Tafta’s income development, marketing and public relations manager, Gail Samuels.

Tafta is looking to communities and corporates to help extend its reach to elders who are constantly in need of care by participating at the golf event or through sponsorships. Corporate, individual, and team sponsorships opportunities are available.

Donations are welcomed and appreciated. All donations received toward the hot Meals and Wheels Programme will be eligible for a tax certificate.
