Take a nature hike

Get out and about in nature this weekend with a local hiking club.

JOIN local hikers this weekend for a variety of hikes through some of Durban’s finest green spaces.

Durban Ramblers Hiking Club will hike at Springside Nature Reserve (Hillcrest) on Saturday, 10 March.
Meet at 1.15pm at the Springside Nature Reserve (Springside Road, Hillcrest).
The hike will take the group through the streets surrounding Springside Nature Reserve and then through the pretty reserve itself. Cost is R20 donation to the reserve.
Grade 2 – easy to moderate; distance is ±6.5km.

On Sunday, 11 March, the group will hike the Everton Circuit.
Hike a circuit from the parking spot taking in both used and new routes to various waterfalls. Take plenty of refreshment liquids. Combined with Midlands Hiking Club. Donation R30 (split between Ezemvelo Krantzkloof and Everton Conservancy).
Grade 3; distance is ±14km.

AMBLERS Hiking Club will hike from the Bluff view site military base on Sunday, 11 March at 2pm.
This is a 7km, three hour hike with spectacular views over Durban. Visit the World War II Naval Gun Bunker above the harbour entrance and the Millennium Tower. Hike costs R30. Contact David on 072 615 0559.
