Berea surfer wins surf event

"This contest just gets bigger and better every year."

CLOSE on 150 surfers ranging in ages from eight to 60 years took to the water at the Lizzard Hurricane KZN Champs at Bronze Beach Umhlanga.

The contest was hosted by Wave Wizards Surf Club and sanctioned by KZN Surfing. It was fun and well organised, waves were 2-3 ft and very contestable, although tricky on finals day with the South Westerly showing up.

Bryce Burness from Berea, was the outright winner in the Open Men with a clear four point lead over Brandon Jackson, Chad du Toit and Dan Redman.
