Brandon starts preparing for next quad ride

Brandon Jooste said a lot was learnt during his first Quads4Quads ride and he and his team look forward to next year's ride.

DURBAN’S Brandon Jooste conquered the Quads4Quads 2017 off-road ride recently.

Brandon, who had taken on the ride for the first time, said the event went well, considering the amount of rain they experienced during the ride.

“It rained three out of the four days and temperatures were not what I expected. It was very cold. The organisers advised that it was the first time they’d had so much rain during the event. It’s usually dusty and hot, not wet, cold, and muddy!” he said.

He said although he didn’t get to complete all the stages as originally hoped, he had a great ride which was injury free and filled with great camaraderie not only from Team Jooste but the rest of the riders as well.

“It brought all sorts of people from all over the country together and I guess if it wasn’t for bikes and dirt roads we probably wouldn’t have chatted,” he said.

At the finish is Gareth Hope-Bailie with his son, Bryce, Tyler Herron, Andre Herbst, Brandon Jooste and Terrence Herron.

“We are going to start our preparations now and are looking for sponsors. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Fabricon Engineering for their funding and assistance, without them and their willingness to help this wouldn’t have been possible,” he said. Brandon also thanked his other sponsors, Fox, Thor, Miview Digital SA and Woodstay Lodge (Newcastle).

“I thank everyone for all the support I received via email, messages and phone calls, I am totally humbled and grateful,” he said.
