Clifton narrowly beaten by rival Glenwood water polo team

Glenwood High School won the 13th annual JAM Waterpolo Tournament at Clifton School.

CLIFTON School recently hosted its 13th annual water polo tournament, sponsored by JAM Clothing.

The school played host to more than 250 water polo players, accompanied by their coaches and supporters.

St John’s College, St Stithians, Glenwood High School and Clifton were the teams that made it to the semi-finals. Glenwood had a comfortable 6-4 win over St John’s to progress to the final. Clifton had a tough encounter against St Stithians, but took the win 7-6 to join Glenwood for the final match.

Sunday afternoon saw a packed Clifton Aquatic Centre, as the defending champions were set to take on Glenwood. It was a tense game that saw a strong Glenwood team taking an early lead. Clifton worked hard to gain some ground, but it was not enough to beat their Durban rivals. Glenwood were the victors, winning 8-5.
