Opportunity knocks for amateur footballers

When you move with purpose you get things done.

AS part of the campaign to find SA’s best amateur soccer player and give them the opportunity of a lifetime to train at Chelsea.

Shield is hosting five regional trials across the country and this Saturday, the Durban regional trials will be the hosted at University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College Soccer Grounds. 100 contestants have been selected and will compete to show off their moves throughout the day. Of the 100 contestants who will train on Saturday, five will be selected to move on to the semi-finals.

These international superstars are the embodiment of hard work, commitment and absolute dedication to their craft. The Chelsea Federation international development manager Ian Woodroffe believes this partnership is an amazing opportunity for aspiring South African footballers to realize their dreams.

“This partnership with Shield will provide an amazing opportunity for aspiring footballers from South Africa. We know the country boasts many players with a huge passion for football and this competition gives them the chance to demonstrate their ability,” said Woodroffe.

It’s a full day of activity and gates open at 9:30am to 15:30pm.
