Take note of Comrades road closures

Roads in and around Durban will be closing in the evening on Saturday, 3 June.

THE Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has announced that new road closures are in place for this year’s race, due to the change of venue at the finish. The world famous marathon takes place this year on Sunday, 4 June.

The up run starts at 5.30am outside Durban City Hall and finishes 12 hours later at the Scottsville Racecourse.

Motorists are urged to be aware of road closures starting in the evening on Saturday, 3 June. Dr Pixley Ka Seme (West) Street between Dorothy Nyembe (Gardiner) and Samora Machel (Aliwal) Streets will be closed from 5pm on Saturday, to 7am on Sunday.

Samora Machel Street, between Monty Naicker (Pine) Street and Anton Lembede (Smith) Street will be closed from midnight to 7am.

On Sunday, 4 June, Sherwood 45th Cutting will be closed from 4am to 7.30am and Cowies Hill will be closed from 4.30am to 8.30am.
