Celebrating yoga in Durban

Celebrations will culminate with a grand free yoga session on Sunday 18 June at the Durban Amphitheatre.

THE Consulate General of India in Durban has announced events in Durban during June in line with the International Day of Yoga on 21 June.

In its resolution, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) recognised that yoga provided a holistic approach to health and well-being, and wider dissemination of the information on the benefits of practicing yoga should be given for overall health of the world population.

The Consulate General of India, Durban will be celebrating a series of events exploring different facets like the intrinsic link of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, a workshop on the ancient language Sanskrit, a youth festival to introduce benefits of yoga to young minds and yoga awareness campaign at schools in KZN.

 

 

These celebrations will culminate with a grand free yoga session on Sunday 18 June at the Durban Amphitheatre from 8.30am to 10am, which will be held in association with the Sivananda World Peace Foundation.
