Jackson Make up for Blind Cricketer of the Year

Make was in the South African Squad that participated in the 40 over Blind Cricket World Cup held in Cape Town in 2014

JACKSON Make, (32) a totally blind cricketer (B1 category) has been nominated by the KZN Cricket Union as the Blind Cricketer of the Year. The awards ceremony will be held next week Friday at Kingsmead. Make was in the South African Squad that participated in the 40 over Blind Cricket World Cup held in Cape Town in 2014 and also participated in the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup that took place in India earlier this year. He is also a third year Bachelor of Social Science Student at UKZN.

Shane Mahabeer, who is the founder of KZN Blind cricket and was the manager of South African Blind Cricket team in the 2014 World Cup said: “I am very proud of Mr Jackson Makes achievements. He was always the top wicket taker in the team and truly an inspiration to our younger players. He also made a humble appeal for bats, white cricket pants and gloves for the development program.”

The KZN Blind Cricket team is preparing for a Blind Cricket tournament between KZN and Boland Blind Cricket team which is scheduled to take place at Siripath Grounds from 16 to 18 June 2017. KZN beat Boland in 2004 to become South African champions.
