Convincing win for DHS

DHS beat Clifton College 67-14 in a one-sided rugby game.

DURBAN High School won convincingly against Clifton College in an exciting rugby match at Riverside on Saturday.

The game proved to be a very one sided affair that saw DHS turn up the heat and run in 10 tries, resulting in a final score of 67-14.

The game started well for the home team as they drew first blood for a well-executed try.

However, after DHS weathered the initial gusto from Clifton, they were then able to assert their authority with three quick fire tries. The first half saw the DHS ‘horseflies’ lose focus occasionally as they surrendered possession too easily and conceded two tries, ending the first half with a score of 29-14.

The second half saw a better team performance from DHS which resulted in a complete shut out of the opposition. The team combined explosive running with some sublime offloads on the day. This was exemplified through the flankers Asande Mnguni and Kamvelihle Fatyela which resulted in tries for both of them.

Craven week winger, Tonderai Ndudzo, also stood out crashing over for his hat-trick on the day.
