Glewood winners in waterpolo match

Gabriel Stopford led the scoring for Glenwood with three goals.

THE Glenwood 1st waterpolo team took on rivals Clifton on Wednesday 1 March.

The match was played at a frenetic pace with Glenwood dominating the early exchanges. However, they missed far too many shots which kept Clifton in the game. The drop defence employed by Clifton neutralised Slade du Randt at centre forward, but this allowed the Jacoby twins, Joshua and Aaron to score from the perimeter.

Gabriel Stopford led the scoring for Glenwood with three goals. For Clifton, Todd Howard had a solid performance netting twice.

Glenwood were able to control the game and were winners with 8-6.

Credit must go the referees Scott Mantle and Lee-Anne Keet-Stewart who whistled the game extremely well.
