THE cut-off to enter next year’s Comrades is looming, and runners are urged to enter before the end of the month.
Anyone wanting to enter the Comrades Marathon can enter online now without qualifying – then provide a qualifying marathon time by 2 May 2017.
The Comrades Association has five official charities to choose to support in its Race4Charity.
A Stella Club member Kevin Hendrickse has already signed up for Community Chest fundraising 2017. He advises that the Community Chest are offering an incentive for every fundraiser who reaches his R5 000 goal – they will be in the draw to win a trip to the Berlin Marathon 2017.
Local running club Stella Athletics has a large number of experienced comrades runners – training groups and expert advice from beginners to budding Comrades hopefuls.
Training is Tuesday to Thursday at 5.15pm at the club at 175 Helen Joseph Road. The club has 230 members of which more than 100 enter Comrades each year.
