Put your best foot foward for the elderly

Join more than 300 runners and walkers on 20 November at the 2016 Tafta Trail Run in association with KZN Trail Running.

YOUR morning run or walk really could bring a great big smile to an elderly person in Tafta’s care if you join over 300 runners and walkers on 20 November at the 2016 Tafta Trail Run in association with KZN Trail Running. It promises to be a fun filled, active morning for the entire family and all proceeds go towards providing a tasty three course meal for pensioners during the festive season.

Building on the success of last year’s event, Tafta has added a bit of fun to the run – go dressed in festive socks – the longer, louder and funkier your socks are, the better.

Participants are also encouraged to take along a toiletry item for the Christmas Cheer Box campaign that is distributed in conjunction with the festive meals. Small toiletry items that we take for granted can be luxuries for those in need so bring something to spoil an elderly person or take care of their necessities to keep them healthy and maintain their dignity.

The scenic run through Durban North’s Virginia Bush offers both a 4km and 8km route and in the spirit of encouraging active lifestyle, Tafta welcomes both runners and walkers of all ages and levels of fitness. This is an inclusive community event in every way – families and children can enjoy kiddies entertainment, food stalls will be available and various lucky draws will be done throughout the morning.

Registration on the day will start at 5.45am – R40 for 4km and R80 for 8km. Pre-registration online is also encouraged via the ROAG website. The 4km and 8km run and walk are open to all ages. On top of the affordable registration fee, lucky prize draws will be done on the day.
