BEREA BC

RESULTS of the Dirks Ladies competition played on 20 July: 1st: Moyra Finnegan, C Hollenbach, Riette Ayres and Lorna Drake; 1st session: Minnette Hatton-Jones, Dora Kruger, Yvonne Momottle, Beverley van der Westhuizen; 2nd session: Lily Rangiah, Marlene Gilbert, Joan Jacobs, Del Scott; the raffle was won by Eileen Reenen.

Results of the Chicken Run played on 20 July : winners: Mike Berry, Joe McNamara and Des Adendorff 2+11; runners-up: Colin Nicholas, Robin 2+10, Chris Adendorff; the raffle was won by Joe Haiden.

Berea Bowling Club will be hosting a fun day on 9 August. Wear mufti and join in on this fun day of bowls, prizes to be won.

The club would like to encourage anyone wanting to play bowls to contact Sue on 072 388 2603 for information.

DURBAN BC

RESULTS of the John Dory Wilson’s Wharf Drawn Drawn Trips played on 20 July: 1st: D Levin, C Van der Westhuizen, L Bird 2+24; 2nd: M Markovic, U Premjee, R Smith 2+19; 3rd: L Cawthorne, A Bidgood, D Neilson 2+10; 4th: C Sullivan, R Butler, M Bezuidenhout 2+8; Jockey winner – L Baker; Chicken Run winner – L Bird.

STELLA PARK BC

CONGRATULATIONS to Stella Park bowlers Clinton Inglis and Tommy Potgieter on winning The All Natal Men’s pairs championships and to the runners up Deon Audie and Wayne Roberts.

In the ladies All Natal pairs, Louise Larkin and Glenda Mathews also finished second and in the Men’s 4’s Clinton Inglis, Deon Audie, Tommy Potgieter and Wayne Roberts finished 2nd.

Friday night’s mufti bowls was won by Ron Davids, Mervyn Barret, Maurice Faulkner and Norma Knibbs.

Upcoming events: Friday night 4pm mufti bowls, all welcome. Members draw at 6pm followed by live music. Sunday Triangular Tournament between bowlers from Stella Park, Hillary and Queensburgh, starting at 9am.

Wednesday fun day – morning bowls followed by bring and braai and afternoon of live music, everyone invited to join in, bowlers, non-bowlers, beginners. Dress casual, starting time is 10am to enable people to vote first. Lots of fantastic prizes.

Good bowling to all bowlers participating in the Masters Singles starting on Friday and finishing on Sunday at Hillcrest BC.
