Swimmers excel at local and international events
Swimmers from Seagulls McLeod Swimming club have achieved a lot this year.
SEAGULLS McLeod Swimming stars are making a splash on the local swimming front.
Swimmers, who train from DGHS Aquatic Centre with head coach, Debbie McLeod, excelled at the TYR Prestige Gala at Kings Park earlier this month and ended the gala with a number of medals for the different races.
Josh Walters, who swims for the club, was selected for the SA team for an international event in December.
Another club swimmer, Carmel Billson, has just returned from Japan where she captained for the RSA Lifesaving Team at the Sanyo-Bussan International Lifesaving Cup (RSA finished third). She is currently preparing for the World Cup in the Netherlands in September.
She received 21 gold medals from surf and stillwater events at the SA Nationals this year.
