Dolphins, Sharks team up for T20 action in charity game

An action packed day filled with sports and live music awaits spectators next Tuesday

EXPECT T20 action on Tuesday, 15 December when two of KZN’s biggest sports teams take each other on at the Sahara Stadium for charity.

The Sunfoil Dolphins will play The Cell C Sharks in a charity game that boths sides will be looking for a win as they attempt to breathe new life into their respective campaigns.

Sunfoil Dolphins’captain Mornè Van Wyk exuded confidence when asked about the prospect of facing their neighbors of a different sporting code, while referencing their triumph in the last encounter. “We won the first Dolphins/Sharks clash and lost the second so we will be going all out to ensure we right the wrongs of our most recent encounter and put one over our rugby neighbours.”

However, The Sharks did not take the comments lying down, as Tera Mtembu responded with fighting words, explaining that their one true mission is, “to send the Dolphins boys running with their tails between their fins.”

While bragging rights is at the top of both team’s Christmas list, the match has added value with sponsors Hollywood Bets making contributions to two beneficiaries totaling R20 000 each. Hollywod Bets will be contributing R20 000 to Umlazi Cricket Club and the Malvern Children’s Home. According to Hollywood Bets's Devin Heffer each six that either team makes will see an additional R500 to charity. Gangs of Ballet will perform at the filled up Sahara Stadium Kingsmead from the Cell C stage at 5pm before the teams take to the field at 6pm. Tickets are available from www.ticketpro.co.za.
