McGregor and Purchase come away with Wall and Back titles
Hank McGregor and Kyeta Purchase claimed wins at Wall and Back surfski series.
The familiar face of Hank McGregor powered to his fifth and series clinching win in the eighth and final race of the 2015 Illovo Suncoast Pirates Wall and Back Surfski Series.
Kyeta Purchase wrapped up the ladies series on Friday evening.
An exciting instalment that had taken place at the Wall and Back series was Mcgregor’s and Matt Bouman’s battles, however Mcgregor eventually came out on top. Barry Lewin, who played a role in the series resurrection in 2013, explained his jubilation on the comeback , as well as the degree of competition and challenges it brings.
“The Wall and Back Series definitely caters to hard core paddling enthusiasts,” he said. “It has always been a series that throws all sorts of challenges as paddlers and conditions are never 100 per cent downwind which makes it a good test.”
