FIVE Durban High School learners recently participated in the SA U19 badminton tournament held in Pretoria, as part of the KZN team.

Tonderai Ndudzo was runner-up for the men's doubles, Jaydon Beru and Nischay Jairaj both made the quarter-finals for the doubles, Muhammad Mirza was graded 6th for South Africa U19 and Mikaeel Mirza made it through to the men's singles and men's quarters as well as the doubles semi-finals and mixed quarter-finals. He also received a weekly grading of 3rd in SA and overall received a 5th place position in South Africa for U19, thus making the SA U19 badminton squad.

Mirza will now go on to attend a training camp later this year from which a team will be chosen to participate in a tournament in Peru.
