LOCAL synchronised swimmer, Giulia Torino, (14), recently represented KZN at the Youth and Senior Nationals Synchronised Swimming competition.
Giulia competed in the 13 to 15 age group at Kings Park pool in five events, four youth and one senior. She achieved a gold for first place in the solo event, a silver for second place in the figures event, a silver in the 13 to 15 age group for the duet event, a silver for second place in the youth team in the 13 to 18 age group and a third place bronze medal for the free routine combo, a senior event.
Giulia has been selected as part of the 2015 SA Selectors Squad for Synchronised Swimming to compete in Perth, Australia at the Commonwealth Festival in September and is busy training for the 13 to 15 solo, duet and team events.
She represented KZN in last year's event and has also qualified for her KZN Youth Colours after representing SA last year at the Mediterranean Cup in Greece.
