Bumper sponsorship for Sharks Academy
GUD Holdings presented a cheque to the Sharks Academy recently.
THE Sharks Academy received a whopping R750 000 from GUD Holdings while an audience of more than 20 000 rugby supporters at the Growthpoint Kings Park Rugby Stadium on 18 April, looked on.
“We are passionate about South African sport and youth development at GUD and what better way to support our youth than to help them make their dreams come true,” said Red Shuttleworth, CEO of GUD Holdings.
Shuttleworth said GUD was very proud of its sponsored students Nzamo Majola and Nkululeko Marwana who have used this opportunity as a platform to further their professional sport ambitions and who recently secured junior contracts at The Sharks Rugby Club.
Nzamo Majola and Nkululeko Marwana are following the footsteps of former GUD sponsored student, Franco Marais, who now plays for The Sharks and was on the starting lineup of the match against the Vodacom Bulls.
Since 2012, GUD Holdings has provided sport and tertiary education bursaries to promising rugby and soccer athletes at the renowned sports academy.
