Waterpolo team third at tourney

Glenwood's U14A waterpolo team took part in the Ken Short Shield Tournament at Jeppe High School.

THE Glenwood U14 A water polo team participated in the annual Jeppe tournament at the weekend and produced some good results.

They finished third in their pool after narrowly missing out on play offs due to a one-goal difference with KES. The boys battled against more experienced sides but put in great performances against schools that also have boys who only started playing waterpolo this year.

Considering the team had only played four games before the tournament, they did very well to only lose to Bishops and Selborne who have both played over 15 games this term and whose team members are seasoned players.

Results: Glenwood vs Affies – won 5-1, vs Bishops – lost 12-0, vs KES – drew 4-4, vs Selborne – lost 5-0, vs St Albans – won 6-1 and final position: 11th out of 20 teams.
