Glenwood dominate College

Glenwood's waterpolo teams were on fine form against Maritzburg College on Saturday.

GLENWOOD High School beat Maritzburg College in the pool at a recent waterpolo fixture.

This was Glenwood's final fixture for the year.

The U14A match was dominated by Glenwood. The narrow pool however created overcrowding in front of the goals and that restricted the ability to shoot. In the end however Tiago Cordeiro had another outstanding match scoring six goals.

The U15A match was a one sided affair. The depth in the Glenwood team was too much for the College team with Gabriel Stopford and Slade du Randt dominating on attack. College struggled to get the ball up the field and this created frustration for their front attack, who was continuously under pressure from Jared Pereira. Dylan Kruger, who played center forward in the final quarter enjoyed the chance to play out and score four goals.

The first team match was dominated by Glenwood. The boys from Maritzburg battled to keep up the tempo set by Glenwood. Dylan Cronje and Shane Westman had strong performances, with Westman creating many extra man opportunities by his dominance at centre forward. He was supported well by Wanyé Phillips who carried the ball hard and was able to feed good early ball to the centre forward.
