Support tennis tourney
Tennis fans are encouraged to go along to support young tennis players at the Junior Club League Tournament.
ETHEKWENI Tennis Association is encouraging people to watch 240 budding tennis stars at a Junior Club League tournament on 16 November for all junior clubs in KZN.
Clubs from Durban, Hillcrest, Bluff, Durban North, Umhlali, Mount Edgecombe, Durban Country Club, Bellevue and Mtunzini will take part, with girls and boys aged 8 years and under making up 14 teams, playing on specially painted courts at Westridge Stadium. There will also be 46 teams made up of girls and boys aged 10 years and under and 12 years and under.
Teams will consist of four players and ties consist of four singles matches and two doubles matches.
“ETA wanted to run this tournament to encourage children of all strengths to play tennis and play in a team environment. It has been a huge success and we hope to have more tournaments like this in the future,” said one of the organisers, Natalie Grandin.
