ENTRIES are open for the 2014 Barloworld Ford Pinetown Tough-Man Trail Series, which kicks off at Freedom Trails in July.

The Tough-Man Trail Run Series has some insane terrain, mystical valleys, windy dirt tracks, amazingly high waterfalls, creepy chain ladders a few dangerously wild animals. The series is not extremely difficult, but it gives each competitor a taste of trail-running while enjoying South Africa’s breath-taking scenery and wildlife.

The new venue, Freedom Trails, is situated in the centre of Hillcrest and is the new home of the Tough-Man Trail Series. This is a brand new MTB and adventure venue which is launching in July, and borders on the M13 highway, providing easy access on and off the M13 highway. Freedom Trails is part of the Giba Gorge Conservancy and is home to a unique compliment of rare and threatened ecosystems with an impressive list of animals and plants.

The Tough-Man Trail series will consist of an 8km and 16km timed trail runs. As this is a family event we have also included a kiddies race which will consist of a 2km run. The kids trail run is a safe and secure trail that is visible from the start and finish area. There are some steep climbs and descents, but nothing too technical for the little people.

Entry fee for the 8km trail run is R90, 16km entry fee is R120 and the kiddies trail run is R15.
