Running for marrow

Runners took to the road on 1 June to help raise funds for the Sunflower Fund.

MOVED by the plight of many leukaemia patients who are often restricted to the indoors and their hospital beds for weeks or months on end, Michelle Coskey of Regent Harriers, and 50 other courageous and selfless runners from running clubs all over Durban, dedicated their Comrades Marathon run to The Sunflower Fund in the 2014 56Miles4Marrow Comrades Marathon campaign.

The campaign has already raised more than R40 000 with funds still rolling in. In the true spirit of the Comrades Marathon, to “celebrate mankind’s spirit over adversity”, not only did these runners take on the ultimate human race but shared their journey in support and solidarity of The Sunflower Fund.

The Sunflower Fund would like to thank all the 56Miles4Marrow runners and their sponsors for their amazing contributions and for being prepared to ‘Share a Little, Save a Life’.
