Quins 5 win friendly

Harlequins' 5th team beat the 4ths in an unofficial match on Saturday.

HARLEQUINS Cricket Club’s fourth and fifth teams had a 25 over friendly on Saturday.

Quins 5 went into bat first with brothers Chris Roets and Kobus Roets opening the innings. Number three batsman Sheldon Baxter went into bat and scored a brilliant 100 not out, this included four sixes and nine fours, a superlative majestic innings.

Ryan Baronet credibly added 28 runs, and the balance of the batsmen made up the total runs. Quins 5 closed their innings on 178 for five after 25 overs.

Quins 4 went into bat with a significantly weaker team than usual. It was a good attempt but the team was all out for 58 runs in 17.1 overs.

A good close for the season, with players interacting socially afterwards discussing merits of the past season and strategy for the next season with all its inherent challenges.
