Chamber hosts inter-company golf challenge

Durban Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first ever inter-company golf championship with great prizes to be won.

A unique golfing competition is being introduced by the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“It is not just a company golf day like most,” said Andrew Layman, the chief executive of the Chamber, the largest metropolitan chamber in the country.

“It is a unique inter-company championship where companies compete against each other. Only one non-company player is permitted in a team of four. Participating companies do not have to be members of the Chamber,” he said.

It is the first time that such a challenge has been hosted by the Chamber and the hope is that it will become an annual event.

The Corporate Golf Challenge is being held at Durban Country Club on Friday, 8 November.

The prize is also substantial, Layman added. The Chamber has formed a partnership with Emirates Airline and Emirates Holidays and the winning four ball prize is a return trip to Dubai, including two nights’ accommodation.

The four ball charge is R5,800 (Incl. VAT), which also includes green fees, golf shirts and caps, halfway house and a fun prize-giving dinner with entertainment.
