Durban all set for TriRock

ALL eyes will be on Durban as preparations get underway for the renowned triathlon, TriRock which takes place this month.

uShaka Marine World will be the starting point of the three events taking place over the weekend. The Chix Colour Rock on Friday 20 September  is an 8km evening fun run which has a novel addition of colour. On Saturday 21 September, families are encouraged to take part in the fun triathlon, also taking place at uShaka Marine World. The main event on Sunday, 22 September, begins opposite uShaka at 7am with a 1.9km ocean swim.

The organisers of TriRock have joined forces with a few entities to ensure the success of this event. The eThekweni Municipality was the first to see the benefit of the event to the city in terms of revenue and added income for local business. The city has ensured that roads will be closed for the cyclists to guarantee their safety and allow for fast racing. Athletes can look forward to world-class nutrition on the route with High5 confirming their partnership as official nutrition sponsor. Tsogo Sun has partnered with the event by providing bed nights for the organisers as well as special rates for participants.

The event caters for relay teams so any athlete wishing to complete an individual leg of the triathlon can do so as a team of three.
