Riverside hockey makes its mark

Riverside Hockey Club kept up its winning streak.

RIVERSIDE Hockey Club continued with their winning streak this past weekend in the final KwaZulu-Natal Super League matches on Sunday at Queensmead Astroturf. Despite securing their accolades, the men’s teams treated spectators to some good hockey and played with their usual skill and determination. Riverside Hockey Club’s men’s first team showed off their exceptional skills in a match against the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a convincing 5-1 win. RHC’s second team also did not disappoint with their 6-2 win against Gongs, securing them the much-sought after KZN Super League Plate. “We are absolutely thrilled with both our teams’ performances on Sunday. Our men’s teams played against some formidable clubs with top provincial and SA players, so we are brimming with pride over these results!” Riverside men’s first team captain, Michael Botha said. “I’m especially proud of our men’s first side for consistently producing exceptional results in every match they’ve played in the past two seasons to claim a succession of trophies and titles. It always feels good to win. Well done to both teams. A lot of hard work has been shown on and off the field,” he added.
