What is going on?

A Berea resident is asking why no action is taken against law breakers in the city.

EDITOR – What is going on with the municipality and our city councillors?
The illegal second-hand car lot in Essenwood Road has been operating since July last year, and all that happens is that they get threatened.

The owner destroyed R30 000 worth of aloes, why were they not charged with theft? They are parking cars on municipal property illegally. Why are the cars not towed away by the City Police?
Why is nothing done about the chaos in Silverton Road every midday caused by the double parkers? Why is nothing done about the cars parked on the red line in Ridge Road outside Overport City, every day and all day.
I have seen both SAPS and City Police vehicle parked there while the drivers are doing their shopping.

I can go on and on about this sort of thing and all our city councillors do is talk about it.
It would appear that their main interest is getting their photos in the newspapers.

Isn’t it time we voted in councillors who have a bit of backbone and enough guts to stand up to the gross inefficiency of the city council?
