Thanks for the support

The SA Legion thanks the public for their support of this year's Poppy Day collection.

EDITOR – On behalf of the Durban Branch Committee of the SA Legion, I wish to thank all those very kind members of the Durban public, including Amanzimtoti, Westville, Pinetown, Hillcrest, Waterfall, Durban North and uMhlanga Rocks areas, for their kind and very generous contributions to our recent street collection on Poppy Day, 11 November.

Having banked just over R90 000, it’s another bumper collection – R5 000 better than last year’s. We’re also particularly grateful to all the kind voluntary collectors for assisting us in this regard.

Our target for next year must be R100 000, but we don’t need the public to be more generous in order to reach this – we simply need more collectors. So, please diarise Saturday, 10 November 2018 now and offer us an hour or so of your time to collect at a nearby shopping mall.

Rick Andriés

Chairman, SA Legion Durban Branch
