Thanks to the angel who stopped to help monkey

"I am so thankful that there are people in the world like Sarah, Carol and Steve."

EDITOR – I wanted to thank Sarah, a kind lady who stopped to help me with a juvenile monkey which had been run over in a hit and run, on 28 September in Lena Ahrens (Manning) Road at about 3 pm.

It was a cold, wet day and cars just continued driving past the badly injured, bleeding, screaming and gasping monkey. I pulled over and directed cars around it and called Monkey Helpline, but Sarah stopped in the road, shielding the monkey with her car, jumped out, took off her hoodie and covered the little monkey. I was blown away by her unhesitating selflessness. She had her young daughter strapped in a baby seat in her car and her Jack Russell.

She spoke to Carol from Monkey Help Line and even offered to take the monkey to a vet! Carol got directions and said Steve was on his way.

I left Sarah sitting on the pavement waiting for Steve. I am so thankful that there are people in the world like Sarah, Carol and Steve. I hope the monkey survived but even if it didn’t, it was not alone and it was warm.
