Woolies responds to wine woes

Woolworths has responded to an 'aggrieved' customer who can no longer buy wine in the Glenwood outlet.

EDITOR – Woolworths has all of a sudden decided to stop selling wine at its Glenwood outlet.

Not even a simple warning notice or some sort of apology to the consumer!

As a customer who used to enjoy their splendid range of Omar Khayyam’s grape, I feel aggrieved.

I will from now on patronise other retailers where I can find a supply of good food, “liquor”, and some consideration for customers’ feelings.

Response from Woolworths head office:

Responding to customer needs is Woolworths’ first priority, and we appreciate it when customers take the trouble to let us know their needs or concerns.

Wine legislation in the KZN region has changed in that wine in grocers can only be sold from a designated area with its own till point.

The stores which do comply with this are La Lucia, Ballito Lifestyle, Lillies Quarter, Delcairn, Mount Edgecombe, Cascades, Shelley Beach, Galleria,

Westville Mall and Gateway.

For any assistance, customers can call us on 0860 022 002, email custserv@woolworths.co.za or contact us online www.woolworths.co.za.
