Thanks for another bumper collection

The South African Legion of Military Veterans are grateful for the generosity shown at a recenty Poppy Day street collection.

EDITOR – On behalf of the Durban Branch Committee of the SA Legion, I wish to thank all those very kind members of the Durban public (including Amanzimtoti, Westville, Pinetown, Hillcrest, Waterfall, Durban North and uMhlanga Rocks areas) for their kind and very generous contributions to our recent street collection on Poppy Day, 7 November.

Although we have not yet completed the counting exercise, last year we raised slightly in excess of R70 000, and I’m confident it’ll be another bumper collection.

We’re also particularly grateful to all the kind voluntary collectors for assisting us in this regard.

Our target for next year must be R100 000, but we don’t need the public to be more generous in order to reach this – we simply need more collectors. So, please diarise Saturday, 12 November 2016 and offer us an hour or so of your time to collect at a nearby shopping mall.
