We live in filth

A Morningside resident said she feels the municipality is not doing its job, by cleaning up effectively in the area.

EDITOR – I walk with my head up looking at the sky as I cannot bear to see our once beautiful Durban become a filthy place to live in.

Walking along Windermere Road is a nightmare, filth lines the pavements. Surely I'm not the only one to see it?

Watching the street cleaners – one day they pick up rubbish on a stick with a knife. If they cannot get the packet up on the first try they just leave it.

They sweep what they can down the gutters. They are lazy and no one checks on their work.

Growing up I used to see street cleaner machines that sprayed the street with disinfectant. We don't have that anymore and live with pavements which are an eyesore, filled with broken glass and rubbish.

Come on people, why must we have community clean ups like they had in Glenwood – it's not our job, we pay tax.

It's shocking that the DSW is not doing their job, they need eye glasses – they just drive past the mess time after time.

Lord knows what's going to happen at Christmas and new year if they cannot clean our streets on a daily basis, or even monthly.

Shocking!

Disgusted
