EDITOR – I have just received a telephone call from an Indian lady who introduced herself as representing the company, Windows.
She addressed me by my surname and stated that the company was receiving a lot of calls regarding a problem with my computer Windows program.
I immediately realised this was a scam and requested her to write me a letter and set out theses problems. She responded that they don't do this and put the phone down.
I would like to warn the community not to allow these people to come and fix or look at your computer – this is what I think she was going to offer to do (free of charge of course). What puzzles me is how she knew my name and that I had a computer. Only Telkom has this information.
