Truck issues need answers

A Teignmouth Road resident wants feedback regarding what is going to be done to curb trucks parking illegally in the road.

EDITOR – It was heartening to read the comments and solutions ( Berea Mail Friday 27 February) by the ward councillor, Metro Police and the eTA representative with regards to the truck problems in Teignmouth and Hillier Roads.

It would be appreciated if we could be updated as to the progress of the proposed solutions, as the increase in the volumes of trucks in the area has not abated. I do not buy Morgan Subramoney’s (Metro Police) comment that due to the unavailability of truck stops the drivers are stopping in our area to go to the bathrooms and shops etc.

Firstly, most of the drivers urinate from their trucks and secondly the shopping mall’s trading hours are 7am to 7pm, however, the traffic is continuous before and after trading hours.

Let’s hope that the proposals are put into action sooner than later.
