EDITOR – On Thursday 6 February at 7.40am I asked a man coming out of the Umhlanga Netcare coffee shop if he could give me directions to the N2 Durban freeway.
He said he was going part of the way and to follow his car.
The chaos and traffic back up due to the SA cycling race road closures was a shocker. He drove and kept in the slow lane, with a huge truck in front of him all the way, so I could keep up and he guided me right to the N3 Durban turnoff. This journey took one hour and 40 minutes.
While driving I realised this man was an angel sent to help me.
He drove a white Audi NUR 28863 and if any reader recognises that number or has his contact, please convey my deepest gratitude to him for helping a 72-year-old lady to safety.
