The City said that its disaster and emergency personnel remain on high alert.

THE South African Weather Service has issued a yellow Level 2 weather warning which will affect eThekwini and other parts of the province today (September 16).

In a statement on its Facebook page, the eThekwini Municipality said that low-lying areas and bridges are susceptible to flooding.

“According to the South African Weather Service, thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours are expected. This may lead to localised flooding, especially in susceptible informal settlements as well as the flooding of roads, low-lying areas and bridges,” the statement read.
