Metro Police bust Berea Road businessman for drug dealing

The suspect was charged with dealing and being in the possession of cocaine.

A LAUNDROMAT owner was arrested on Tuesday (September 10) for allegedly using his business as a cover to sell drugs.

Members from the Metro Police Tactical Support Unit and Drug Team secured a search warrant for the business, resulting in the man’s arrest.

Police also seized cocaine with a street value of R12 400 and R10 000 in cash.

Metro Police spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu applauded the arrest.

“The suspect, a foreign national, was running a laundry business on Berea Road. He was found with 10.43 grams of cocaine powder, 25 bags of cocaine powder, totalling 28.43 grams and R10 000 in cash. This operation demonstrates our commitment to keeping our communities safe and holding perpetrators accountable,” he said.

The suspect was charged with dealing and being in possession of cocaine.
