Durban woman recounts beachfront hijacking ordeal

A Durban woman, who was kidnapped and held hostage for two hours, shares her ordeal on her TikTok account.

A DURBAN woman has reached out to her TikTok followers to share a gruesome story of how she escaped rape and death one tragic afternoon at the hands of three alleged hijackers.

Miss BEE_2.0 (TikTok account) narrated that, on June 25, she drove to and parked at the Durban Beachfront to get some air. It is her regular spot after work where she normally sits in the car and reads her Bible.

“I was forced into the backseat [of a car] by three armed men. They got hold of my phone and navigated my banking apps, however, they discovered that I didn’t have enough money. They proceeded to drive my car to a location near Nandi Drive. One guy from another vehicle boggled me [sic] and took me to a bush at a designated area, pointing a gun at me.”

“They started video-calling my WhatsApp contacts – my loved ones – and demanded that they send money to my bank account. All while a gun was pointed at my head.”

She said the ordeal lasted for two hours and, “I did not know whether I was going to be raped or killed. My peace was stripped away from me. This was an experience I will never forget.”

She added that she made the TikTok video to create awareness for everybody, especially females. “I will never be able to unsee, un-feel and un-hear what I was put through.

“I can never get back the two hours I have lost. I lost my car, laptop and phone. I have to live with trauma. Hopefully, everything will get better with time.”
