KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2024 Winter Season Concert 2

The second concert in the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2024 Winter Season is on Thursday, June 13, at 19:00, at the Playhouse Opera, with a welcome return to the Opera Stage of much-loved soprano Bronwen Forbay. Japanese maestro Yasuo Shinozaki, a longstanding favourite with KZN Philharmonic audiences, takes to the podium for the second concert of the season. In the first half of his programme, he shares the spotlight with Durban-born, US-based lyric soprano Bronwyn Forbay. KAMERS Makers and Ndlovu Youth Choir come to town

The ZA Fest with KAMERS Makers’ debut in KwaZulu-Natal forms part of a four-day festival from June 14 to 17. (Ticket price R100.) They will be headlined by the dynamic duo of platinum-award-winning artist Jesse Clegg and America’s Got Talent Season 14 finalists The Ndlovu Youth Choir, who will deliver a one-day-only, extraordinary performance at The Manor House in Salt Rock on Sunday, June 16. The Emperor’s New Clothes

KickstArt Theatre presents the enchanting musical, The Emperor’s New Clothes, from June 15 to July 7 at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre. The show has been famed by Broadway duo Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Directed by Steven Stead, with stunning designs by Greg King, this vibrant adaptation of the classic fairy tale promises laughter, lessons and theatrical magic, perfect for the whole family. Gas Magazine brings back the Gas Motorshow 2024 to Suncoast Durban on June 14 and 15. A taste of 60s and 70s classics

Watch the Black Lapels bring you Fortunate Son – Tribute to CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival) at the Rhumbelow Theatre, 42 Cunningham Road, off Bartle Road, from Friday, June 14 to Sunday, June 16. The Friday and Saturday shows start at 19:30, and the Sunday show starts at 14:00.

Returning by popular demand, allow the Black Lapels to whisk you away to the late 60s and early 70s with their sold-out and unparalleled musical homage to Creedence Clearwater Revival. Tickets are R200 each. Bring food picnic baskets or buy at the venue, and there is a bar available – no alcohol may be brought onto the premises. Watch the Royal Ballet Company on the big screen at Rhumbelow, Umbilo, on Monday, June 17 at 14:00. The venue opens 60 minutes before the show for snacks/drinks, and the running time is 180 minutes (including two intervals). Tickets are R150 each. Food is available at the venue.
