THE Port Natal Bowls Novice Competition came to an end last Saturday on January 27 after running every Saturday for five consecutive weeks at the Durban Bowling Club.
The Durban Bowling Club has been running the competition since 1985 which is open for all new bowlers who have been playing the sport for no more than three years.

“This tournament had 119 men and 79 women competing. When we started off with this competition, we had three clubs participating, but now, clubs from all over Durban submit their players for this tournament every year,” said Durban Bowling Club Chairperson Peter Jackson.
Jackson went on to say this is a very prestigious tournament where past winners have gone on to represent the province and South Africa.
“We were also fortunate to be sponsored by Old Mutual this year,” said Jackson.
