Local bakery shares Christmas shortbread recipe

Christmas is the perfect time to try out new recipes, so check out this delicious shortbread recipe from Carol’s Home Industries in Glenwood.

IN a world of instant gratification, satellite communication and 24/7 connection, isn’t it soothing to know there is still a sector of society that knows and appreciates the value of homemade cakes, biscuits and tasty treats like those that can be found at Carol’s Home Industry at Glenwood Village?

This little legacy cake shop has been at the cornerstone of the centre for 17 years under the ownership of the vibrant Carol and the late Keith Phipps. Sadly, Keith lost his battle with leukaemia early this year, and at age 77, Carol has found it challenging to run the business on her own while finding the time to grieve her loss. She sold the business to a local Glenwood family, the Brokenshas, with September 1 marking a new season for the shop.
