Checkers in Windermere robbed by armed suspects

This morning, the security and staff of Checkers in Windermere were the targets of a robbery involving three armed suspects.

AS employees of Checkers in Windermere were gearing up for the work day at around 07:30 this morning, the store was robbed by armed suspects who held up staff and security and robbed them of their belongings.

According to SAPS Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, it is alleged that three armed men held up the employees and security inside the business premises and robbed them of cellphones and their belongings.

Fortunately, there were no injuries. “No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported,” said Gwala.

Gwala said that a case of robbery is being investigated by Berea SAPS.
