South Africans ecstatic after epic Rugby World Cup win

A wave of euphoria and celebration swept over the country as the Springboks took the 2023 Rugby World Cup title on Saturday.

THIS weekend, the Springboks took on the mighty All-Blacks in a repeat of the 1995 Rugby World Cup final.

This meeting was test number 106 in the 102-year history of what is rugby’s greatest rivalry.

Going into the game, South Africa’s starting line-up boasted a combined 987 caps, and in a triumphant moment for the Springboks and the country, South Africa became the first nation to win four men’s Rugby World Cup titles after holding off New Zealand in a dramatic final at Stade de France on Saturday. The Springboks won a third successive knockout match in this tournament by a point and added to their titles in 1995, 2007 and 2019.
