KZN Philharmonic Orchestra takes the Durban stage tonight

Tonight's performance of Rachmaninoff’s ‘Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini’ was adapted into the theme of the movie, Groundhog Day.

CLASSICAL music lovers are in for a treat this evening, June 15 as the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing Rachmaninoff’s iconic Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.

Interestingly, the piece was adapted into the theme of the movie, Groundhog Day, which tells the story of a self-centred weatherman (Bill Murray) who finds his day running on repeat until he makes better life choices.

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra Winter Season Concert takes place at 19:00 in the Playhouse Opera with an open rehearsal at 22:00.

The evening’s soloist is Bulgarian virtuoso Emmanuel Ivanov on piano.
