WATCH: one last cable ride at Durban Funworld

It was a hive of activity as Durban locals and out-of-town visitors flocked to Durban Funworld for one last ride.

THE community flocked to Durban Funworld on Sunday, April 30, ahead of the theme park’s closure, today, Monday, May 1. With a lengthy queue, it’s safe to say the cable ride, which offers stunning views of Durban’s coastline, was among the most popular.

Berea Mail journalist Danica Hansen was among those who hopped on board – capturing a few highlights along the way.

Last month, theme park owner Nic Steyn announced the park’s closure, saying it was a sad but unavoidable reality. He said Durban Funworld had been in its prominent beachfront location for approximately 75 years.

And the day has arrived. Today, Monday, May 1 marks the park’s final day. For one last ride, visit the park from 12:00 to 18:00. Durban Fun World is located at 78 Marine Parade. For more information, call 065 945 8208, email info@durbanfunworld.com or visit the Durban Fun World Facebook Page.
