Municipality encourages students to apply for In-Service Training Programme

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Public Works, In-Service Training refers to practical work experience during studies and usually after one or two years of theory studies are successfully completed.

AN opportunity for students to gain work experience while studying is being offered by the City, and students can apply at the eThekwini Municipality’s Skills Development Offices in Durban Central. The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Public Works aims to create a bright future for the students who qualify for placement through In-Service Training, especially those who are from a disadvantaged background. According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Public Works, In-Service Training refers to practical work experience during studies and usually after one or two years of theory studies are successfully completed.

“The purpose of granting students the opportunity to do their In-Service Training programme is to provide the student with an in-depth understanding of the field they are studying towards through to the practical application of theoretical knowledge,” they said.

The eThekwini Municipality released a statement saying that they offer a whole range of in-service training opportunities according to the in-service trainee requirements.

“Students are advised to visit the Skills Development Offices located at the 11th Floor, Shell House, 221 Anton Lembede Street, Durban. Or contact Lihle Sishi / Mndeni Gumede on 031 311 3192/3183,” said the municipality.
